The Affiliated Kangning Hospital of Ningbo University（Ningbo Kangning Hospital）was founded in 1919, formerly known as Zhenhai Tongyi Hospital founded by private donations. In 1950s, the government took over the hospital and made it public. In 1972, it was restructured into Ningbo Region Psychiatric Hospital，and in 1985, it was renamed Ningbo Kangning Hospital. In 2015, it was listed as Ningbo Center for Mental Disease Control and Prevention. In 2020, It was merged with Ningbo Institute of Microcirculation and Scopolamine and Ningbo Drug Rehabilitation Research Center, and added the title of Ningbo Institute of Microcirculation and Scopolamine.
In 2023, according to the approval of the superior, the first name of the medical institution of Ningbo Kangning Hospital is changed to the Affiliated Kangning Hospital of Ningbo University, and the second name is Ningbo Kangning Hospital. The hospital passed the evaluation of Class ⅲ Grade A specialized hospital in 2012 and Class ⅲ Grade A re-evaluation in 2022. After a hundred years of changes, the hospital has developed into a tertiary psychiatric hospital with strong comprehensive strength, integrating medical treatment, scientific research, teaching and prevention. From 2020 to 2022, the hospital has been ranked the third, fifth and first in specialized hospitals in the performance evaluation of tertiary public hospitals in China for three consecutive years.
The hospital covers an area of 90 mu, with a floor area of 85,000 square meters. It is composed of Zhuangshi Branch located in Zhuangshi Street, Zhenhai District, Haishu Branch (Ningbo Psychological Counseling and Treatment Center), Yinzhou Branch (Ningbo Social Psychological Service Guidance Center), and Fenghua Branch (No.22 Zhongshan Road, Fenghua District). It has 10 clinical departments (18 wards), 14 outpatient medical technology departments, 13 administrative departments, and 750 approved beds, with a bed scale of up to 1000. At present, the hospital has 12 PHD staffs, 98 master degree staffs, 3 doctoral students, 29 master students, 2 doctoral supervisors and 11 master supervisors.
The hospital undertakes medical treatment, teaching, scientific research, prevention, training and guidance of mental health in Ningbo City. The hospital has Ningbo Juvenile Mental Health Guidance Center, Ningbo Mental Health Association, Ningbo Medical Psychology Institute, Ningbo Social Psychological Service Guidance Center, etc., which undertakes the national pilot work of comprehensive management of severe mental disorders and the national pilot work of construction of social psychological service system. "Needle love", "peer support", "Ningbo e Xinfeng" and other service projects with Ningbo recognition, after the end of the pilot, 3 typical cases were selected as excellent cases of the National Mental health and mental health prevention and control center, and the Internet + social heart service platform won the "Best Application" award of the digital reform of the Municipal Development and Reform Commission in 2022. The "2+3+N" model of mental health care for the elderly was included in the excellent case of the 2022 Healthy Zhejiang Action. The medical and education collaboration teaching model of adolescent mental health services was twice written into the provincial documents and promoted and applied.
The hospital is the teaching base of Ningbo University School of Medicine, North China University of Science and Technology, Bengbu Medical University, Zhejiang Normal University and Ningbo Tianyi Vocational and Technical College. It has 6 disciplinary development centers, including children and adolescents psychological diagnosis and treatment center, psychological counseling and treatment center, dementia medical diagnosis and treatment center, sleep diagnosis and treatment center, emotional disorders special center and physical diagnosis and treatment center, and 11 disciplinary research teams, and has one provincial key laboratory - Zhejiang Key Laboratory for Drug Addiction Research. One key discipline of Zhejiang Province - Neurobiology, one municipal key laboratory - Ningbo Key Laboratory of Physical Diagnosis and Treatment of Mental Disorders, one brand discipline of Ningbo Medical and Health Care - Ningbo Discipline of Children and Adolescents Mental disorders and sleep disorders, one key medical discipline of Ningbo - Psychiatry.
In the past three years, the hospital has won 1 second prize and 5 third prizes of municipal science and technology progress, and has been selected as one major project of Ningbo high-end medical and health team. The hospital has published more than 90 SCI/ China series papers in the past three years, including 9 SCI impact factor scores above 10, the highest single impact factor of 16.98, published 11 monographs, approved 54 patents, 32 software Copyrights, and 6 achievement transformation projects.
